Terms & Disclaimer

By using this website, you agree to the terms below. The content on this site is for general informational purposes only and does not create a coaching relationship. A coaching relationship begins only once both parties have signed a Client Agreement, which governs the coaching engagement itself and takes precedence over this website in any conflict between the two.
Note: if you go on to sign a Client Agreement, that agreement contains additional terms specific to the coaching engagement, including provisions for clients based in the United Kingdom regarding statutory cancellation rights. Those provisions are set out and governed by the Client Agreement itself, not by this website.
1. Eligibility
This site and our coaching services are intended for adults aged 18 and over. Our work is not suitable for anyone currently in crisis, at risk of harming themselves or someone else, receiving active treatment for a diagnosed mental health condition, or needing clinical or medical care rather than coaching. If this applies to you, please seek support from an appropriately qualified professional instead.
2. Coaching Is Not Therapy
Our work is life coaching, delivered through structured conversation and reflective questioning. It is not therapy, counselling, psychotherapy, psychological treatment, medical treatment, diagnosis, legal advice, or financial advice. Helen Innes is not a licensed therapist, counsellor, or medical professional. It is not a substitute for support from a qualified doctor, therapist, lawyer, or financial professional. If you are experiencing a medical or mental health crisis, please contact a doctor, mental health professional, or local emergency services.
3. No Guarantee of Outcomes
Coaching outcomes vary from person to person and depend significantly on the client's own engagement with the process. We do not guarantee any specific business, financial, emotional, or personal results from using this website or engaging in coaching.
4. Confidentiality
Enquiries, messages, and information shared before a Client Agreement is signed (including during discovery calls, and from people who do not go on to become clients) are treated as confidential, as described in our Privacy Policy. This includes our practice of drawing on anonymised themes and stories from such enquiries for educational and marketing purposes, with identifying details always removed. Once you become a client, confidentiality of coaching sessions, and any use of anonymised client stories or communications in marketing, is additionally governed by the terms of your signed Client Agreement. If anything in this section differs from your signed Client Agreement, the Client Agreement applies.
5. Third-Party Tools and Intellectual Property
Booking (TidyCal), video sessions (Zoom), newsletter signup (Substack), music album purchases (Gumroad), and other tools embedded on this site or used to deliver services may be provided by third parties and are subject to their own terms. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of information transmitted through these platforms. All website text, images, and materials belong to us unless otherwise stated, and may not be reproduced or used without permission.
6. Third-Party Links
This site may contain links to third-party websites or resources. We do not control these third parties and are not responsible for their content or practices. We recommend reviewing their own terms and privacy policies before engaging with them.
7. Limitation of Liability
Use of this website is at your own discretion. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the website or reliance on its content. Nothing in this section affects the limitation of liability set out in your Client Agreement, which governs any paid coaching engagement.
8. International Visitors
This website is accessible outside Canada, including to visitors in the United Kingdom. These website terms are governed by Alberta and Canadian law regardless of where you access the site from. If you go on to sign a Client Agreement, that agreement will set out any additional terms that apply based on your location, including statutory rights that may apply to UK-based clients.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these terms from time to time by posting an updated version on the website with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the website after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada.
